  Engine Ping in my Toyota Tundra V-8

Anyone else experience an engine ping in their Tundra. Anyone have the answer as to what is causing it?

My 2002 (17K miles) is smooth and ghostly quiet running regular gas.

I can only speculate that some aspect of the computer/emissions/timing system needs attention or adjustment.

Let us know what you find when you get to the bottom of it.

  Engine Ping in my Toyota Tundra V-8

My 2000 Toyota Tundra V8 is also the quietest truck I have ever been in. I use Mobil 1 synthetic 5w30 in it.

I guess yours must be pretty new as the V8 came out in 2000, have the dealer check it out, particularly if you are still under warranty.
